We often don’t think of our marina here in Everett as world class leader, but it might surprise you to know that Everett is home to one of the largest marinas on the West Coast. Go to any world class city and you’ll see marinas that are smaller than that right here in our community.
The next time you are at one of our fine waterfront restaurants like (The Woodfire Grill is this writer’s favorite), pinch yourself as you enjoy the spectacular view of the watercraft that huddle along the vast expanse of docks. Smile as the noisy gulls scold their winged cohorts as they battle for the chunk of meat from a freshly cracked muscle — dropped from high above. Or just listening to the gentle cling of sailing gear as the boats gently bob around in their moorage.
Yes, our marina is truly an asset to our community — from a practical standpoint, from an artistic standpoint, and from a logistical standpoint — most importantly it is just fun to have around, to sail around, to be where the nautical themes are prevalent. Forget not that Everett was a leading nautical hub even a hundred years ago. Our rich history runs deep and love of the sound, the sea, and fish, and seafood are part of our heritage. We can’t let ourselves forget how our Marina, more than anything else, is a spectacular symbol of why Everett takes pride in being at the side of saltwater.
